Okay.. now I'll go shower. It killed time, but now I need to go do "adult" things i.e. laundry and dishes and walk the dogs and pay bills. Wooo..

Farmer Boy

First off, I'm so behind in my writing.. So I really should be doing that instead of updating my blog, but I needed something to jump start my brain.

I'm done with any big vacations until about August and I'm happy about that. Jhony is still in training, but I was able to talk to him a couple times the past few weeks. Hopefully, the rest will just go by and then I need to talk my dad into seeing if I can visit him for 4th of July.. Not really looking forward to that conversation, but it's worth a shot.

Anywho, I am home from Canada! It was by far the most fun I've had in the country in a looong time, but that may be because I'm legal to drink up there and I totally took advantage of it, but I didn't abuse it. Quite proud of myself! :)

Well I have this guy friend up there, who I will call Farmer Boy, who lives next door to my grandma. He works on a diary farm, is tall and really skinny, has sandy blond hair and just makes my time up there so much more enjoyable! Oh, and he learned english so that when I would visit we could talk, which I still think is so sweet. I had my 13 year old cousin with me up there as well, but he is in that age where he "knows everything" and you just want to smack him once or twice. 

Thank god for Farmer Boy because he came over a lot and would take my cousin out on the tractor or to help feed the cows - which I did help with! At one point though he came over and asked if I wanted to see the new kittens (I happily agreed) and I got to name a new baby cow after myself. While we were alone in the barn - I asked about his girlfriend. He said she had moved out so she could be closer to her job and then he asked me about Jhony saying that my grandma had told him. Then we got on the topic that we have known each other for 10 years. 

10 YEARS!

Farmer Boy was my first really big crush. I liked him from age ten to maybe fourteen? But then he just got awkward with me.. Like he told me he liked me and then just became this whole other person. I'm not into people who get like that. But then he got this girlfriend that he has been seeing for the last five years (I'VE NEVER SEEN HER IN ALL MY TIME HANGING OUT WITH HIM) and he started to ignore me when I would visit for about three years. It wasn't until last summer when he came back around again, but he was the same Farmer Boy I liked so much when I was ten years old. So we have a very interesting history.. and this summer he was like above and beyond nice to me. He was goofy and punchy and happy and just awesome!

Our last night there, my cousin and I were sitting on the porch talking with Farmer Boy when my aunt came and told him it was time for bed because we had to get up at the crack of dawn to leave. So I stood up to say my goodbye, but Farmer Boy asked if I could hang out for a little longer. I got nervous because about three years ago when he started talking to me again, he asked if he could kiss me before I left. I politely let him kiss my cheek, but was very confused because I had a boyfriend and his girlfriend was living with them.

I told him sure and he came and sat down next to me. He looked at me and said, "I talked to your cousin a little about this, but I want to tell you now. I know I haven't always been the nicest person towards you and I tried to rush things with us a couple years ago when neither of us were ready, but I want to apologize for any of it.

You are a beautiful person, Alex. I just really want you to know that even if I get married or you end up with Jhony that I will always have a special place in my heart for you. I will always love you."

I know he didn't mean he is in love with me, but he simply cares about me. I responded with a simple, but more of a smartass answer and he laughed. And told me that I've "changed." I got worried and asked if that was a good thing or a bad thing and he gave me the biggest smile and told me it was a great thing. That I was a lot of fun to hang out with and just a cool person. Then I had to go inside and he just reached over and gave me a huge hug and a kiss on the top of my head (very brotherly).  

Something about him telling me this just made me feel good. Like I have changed, but into a better person. That people do come around later in life. I just know that people like him exist and I pray that when I'm married and have kids, we can visit each other and I can explain our crazy history with someone who gave me some of the best summers of my life.

UPDATES!

Well I've been going to the gym a lot, but slacking on the eating department which isn't help since I'm leaving for the beach on Sunday. Eh - nothing I can do about it, but suck it up and use it for motivation for July. 

Why July?

Cause that's when Jhony is getting time off to come up again. I feel like it's been forever since I've seen him and it really has been. :( He currently is in field training for a whole month which means that we can't have any contact. Although he has been able to facetime me twice since he's been gone, but it's just a small luxury. When he really deploys it's gonna be a lot more difficult know that I can't talk to him everyday like I've become so used to. So this training is good practice. I won't lie, the first three days I was just blah because last time he left for two weeks a lot of stuff went down and I really needed him - even through the phone. 

Not that I don't have friends who care about me and they know that, but they understand you get a different comfort from a loved one. 

Hmm.. As for writing, I have one original fiction piece and another fanfiction. Both are great to write, but I need to get better about updating.. Tumblr and exercising distract me.. I'm hoping to update both of them today or before work tomorrow if I don't end up going to the gym. 

I have a feeling it's gonna be a hot and humid summer, but a friend of mine who nannies down the street (and ironically is married to a Marine) says I am more than welcome to join her and the kids at the pool. That'll keep me busy too! I'll also be able to start working mornings again because classes are over and the morning cashier put in her two weeks! c:

I promise I'll start updating more again. Every once and I while I just forget because nothing great comes to mind, but I could say I like pie and that would be it! haha
